Application Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Hybrid in Salem, New Hampshire, United States

Base compensation: USD 110,000–120,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into technical requirements and take new ExtremeCloud features from concept through delivery.
• Design, implement, and maintain clean, reusable, scalable, secure cloud applications and services.
• Develop unit, functional, and automated system tests to ensure application reliability.
• Design scalable and performant systems, establish engineering best practices, and introduce new technologies.
• Conduct code reviews, create technical documentation, and resolve functional and technical issues.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, product management, CX, UX, and UI designers, including customer-facing technical interactions and sprint delivery ownership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with advanced backend skills in Docker, Kubernetes, and clustering.
• Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns, with coding experience in one or more of Go, Java, or Python.
• Experience building high-scale, concurrent, cloud-based, and secure web applications with REST, JSON, OpenAPI, and APIs/interfaces.
• Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, Redis, GORM, Elasticsearch, and ClickHouse.
• Familiarity with event-based architecture and experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, gNMI, and gRPC messaging or communication services.
• Deep understanding of web performance and accessibility, plus security protocols and technologies including IAM, RBAC, certificates, and HTTPS.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and ability to work with global teams across time zones.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, independent decision-making, and self-starter abilities.
• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related degree.
