Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Leader (Civil Engineering)

Location: Rocky Hill, CT, United States; hybrid schedule combining on-site field work and office work. Night and weekend work may be required.

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 per year.

What you will do

• Assist inspection Team Leaders during field inspections to determine the structural condition of bridges and other structures.
• Inspect complex bridges, tunnels, and overhead sign structures, with possible involvement in structural analysis and other engineering tasks.
• Write technical inspection reports and review the work of other staff.
• Assist with CAD drawings for bridge and highway projects and with structural analysis using applicable engineering software.
• Support Project Managers with schedules, budgets, deliverables, reports, and project documentation.
• Build working relationships with employees, clients, and collaborators and perform additional bridge design and analysis tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, MathCAD, Microsoft Office, AASHTOWare BrR/BrD, MIDAS, and LARSA.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills; commitment to quality, accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, use ladders and hand tools, and work alongside live traffic.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certificate for operating bucket trucks and company vehicles.
• Safety-conscious and responsible for personal and team safety.
