Structural Project Engineer

Location: Concord, California, US; other locations include Fresno, California, US and Holland, Michigan, US. Some travel may be required, primarily within the continental United States, approximately 10%.

Salary: $105,000–$110,000 annually.

What you will do

• Plan, design, and support construction or repair of building and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, structural analyses, and reports using software and classical hand calculations.
• Work with designers and drafters to produce construction drawings and specifications.
• Conduct field investigations, document existing conditions, and develop structural assessments, analyses, and repair recommendations.
• Provide construction-phase services, including submittal reviews and responses to contractor requests for information.
• Collaborate across disciplines to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria.

Requirements

• 4+ years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university. A structural emphasis is preferred.
• EIT certification is required. PE is a plus.
• Ability to work with building codes, including state-specific codes, IBC, and ASCE.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of STAAD Pro, Ram Elements, or RISA 3D.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk products, including CAD and Advanced Steel.
• Experience designing structural systems using concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and other materials.
• Industrial engineering experience involving chemical plants, steel mills, or manufacturing plants.
