Software Engineer (JavaScript, Node.js)

Location: Remote in Portugal, Spain, or Hungary

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud applications using JavaScript, Node.js, and AI-assisted coding tools.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver features from concept through production.
• Develop unit and integration tests while improving platform stability, data security, and performance.
• Own implementation quality, system performance, documentation, and continuous process improvements.
• Provide in-house third-level support, debug technical issues, and produce accurate effort estimates.

Requirements

• Solid professional software development experience with JavaScript and Node.js.
• Strong hands-on experience with databases and modern container environments, including Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
• Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience or strong interest in AI tools for code generation and workflow optimization.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture definition, system optimization, and automated testing frameworks.
• Previous experience working with SaaS applications.
