Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Remote, Portugal. Full remote work on a project based in Portugal; Portuguese or other EU citizenship, or a valid Portuguese work permit, is required.

What you will do

• Build and handle asynchronous, event-driven workflows using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frameworks such as React.
• Design and implement services using HTTP, REST, GraphQL, service-oriented architectures, design patterns, and data structures.
• Integrate and connect systems such as warehouse management and eCommerce platforms.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL data stores and cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Create testable code, prioritize testing, and use linters, type checkers, and static analysis tools.
• Use Git in continuous delivery processes and collaborate within Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with Vanilla JavaScript and/or TypeScript and modern frameworks and platforms such as React and Node.js.
• Experience building and handling asynchronous and event-driven workflows.
• Knowledge of HTTP, REST, and/or GraphQL protocols and architectural patterns.
• Experience creating testable code and making testing a priority.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
• Knowledge of service-oriented architectures, design patterns, data structures, Git, continuous delivery, linters, type checkers, and static analysis tools.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience integrating or connecting warehouse management and eCommerce systems.
• English proficiency at B2/C1 level.
• Availability for a full remote project based in Portugal, with Portuguese or other EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit.
