Software Engineer II (Node/TypeScript)

Location: Remote work from the Philippines

What you will do

• Design, build, test, maintain, and ship platform features independently from requirements through production.
• Build and operate reliable services on AWS with attention to performance, security, and cost.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using tools such as CircleCI and Terraform.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and address technical debt.
• Participate in technical design discussions, review code, maintain documentation, and improve system design.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA, designers, and engineering teams to deliver business outcomes.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping and maintaining production software.
• At least 3 years of recent, hands-on experience with NodeJS and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of backend ecosystems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging brokers such as SQS and RabbitMQ, and common software design patterns.
• Proven AWS expertise across ECS/Fargate, Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, and other core services.
• Hands-on experience architecting end-to-end systems, including API design, data models, and infrastructure based on business requirements.
• Experience designing and operating scalable, resilient, and high-performance microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Deep knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, with experience maintaining automated test suites integrated into CI/CD.
• Experience building secure services and applying best practices for observability and maintainability.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; ability to mentor engineers and explain complex technical ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative, positive, and approachable working style aligned with a “win together” culture.

• Active use of AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT to improve productivity and accelerate development.
