Application Engineer/Administrator

What you will do

• Install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain applications in production and non-production environments.
• Tune application performance and continuously improve service efficiency and quality.
• Provide application support across incident, change, release, and problem resolution activities.
• Write and validate application procedures, troubleshooting guides, and backup and restore plans.
• Automate recurring system administration procedures and provide installation and technical support documentation.
• Maintain the technical knowledgebase and report on application availability, performance, capacity, and usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent command of English at least at B2 level.
• At least 6 years of experience as an IT professional in mid- or large-scale IT infrastructure environments, including application deployment, support, and maintenance.
• At least 5 years of experience in application administration.
• At least 2 years of experience with microservices, container orchestration, and container-based stacks such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• At least 2 years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch, including knowledge of Elasticsearch cluster deployment and administration.
• At least 5 years of experience with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker, Rancher, configuration management concepts and technologies such as Puppet, Ansible, and Chocolatey.
• Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting and ITIL, including incident, change, and release management processes.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of experience with public or hybrid cloud services and solutions, including Azure or AWS.
• Good knowledge of DevOps, relational databases such as MS SQL and PostgreSQL, and their interaction with applications.
• Good knowledge of Kong API Gateway.
• Certifications in the mentioned technologies.
