Medior DevOps Engineer (Databricks)

Location: Hybrid in Utrecht, Netherlands; candidates must be located in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. Relocation from another country is not considered.

Salary: Gross monthly salary of €4,105–€5,862 for a 36-hour work week.

What you will do

• Develop a security platform that processes reported quality and security findings, enriches data, connects sources, and improves security posture visibility and risk prioritization.
• Implement large-scale data pipelines that ingest, aggregate, and enrich findings from different tools and deliver prioritized actionable findings.
• Design practical data models for analysts and create insights and dashboards.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, observability, and operational transparency across data flows.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, DevOps, application engineering, and development teams on shared pipelines and contracts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field, with a solid theoretical foundation and strong analytical capabilities.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, version control, and CI/CD.
• Experience with data engineering concepts including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and data serving patterns.
• Familiarity with integrating APIs, event streams, databases, and messaging platforms, including exposure to event-driven and asynchronous architectures.
• Experience with Databricks and its ecosystem, including Delta Lake, Structured Streaming, Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows, and Medallion Lakehouse architecture patterns.
• Experience operating and maintaining Databricks platforms in production, including workspace configuration, security, governance, monitoring, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and platform automation using Terraform, Bicep, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, or equivalent cloud-native platforms.
• Understanding of platform reliability engineering, including monitoring, alerting, logging, troubleshooting, incident management, and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GraphQL and schema-first APIs.
• Exposure to graph-based data models or technologies such as Neo4j.
• Interest in or experience with AI/LLM-driven analytics.
• Basic familiarity with risk modeling or threat modeling, such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Interest in or exposure to security-related data domains, including SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC, CSPM, and vulnerability management such as CVEs/CVSS.
