Clinical Data Engineer (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines for daily and weekly electronic health record (EHR) data extracts.
• Migrate structured CSV data into databases, data warehouses, and data lakes for efficient querying.
• Develop dashboards tracking IntelliSep performance and effectiveness, customer-related metrics, clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, financial performance, and potential impact on patient outcomes and hospital reimbursement.
• Standardize tables and data artifacts toward a canonical data schema and maintain version control for code and data.
• Develop infrastructure documentation and methodologies.
• Build systems and tools supporting customer quality improvement and post-implementation data analysis while ensuring data integrity, traceability, and appropriate access controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of industry-related experience, ideally working with EHR or clinical data.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Bash, and Git.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud computing provider; AWS is preferred.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and PHI-handling requirements, with experience implementing data privacy, security, and integrity controls in a healthcare or clinical data environment.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor with minimal direct oversight.
• Ability to use a data-driven approach to understand complex issues and experiment with and iterate on different solutions.
• Valid U.S. work authorization without requiring employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt or similar transformation tools.
