Firmware Engineer (AI/Silicon)

What you will do

• Develop firmware for an embedded processor on an SoC to provide an API between higher-level software and the hardware layer.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to understand and specify API requirements.
• Specify and create the firmware development environment, including compilers, simulators, debuggers, and other tools.
• Work across software simulation, RTL simulation, and physical hardware environments.
• Develop firmware verification and stress-test plans and environments to ensure production quality.
• Debug firmware in prototyping and ASIC environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in firmware development.
• Experience specifying and creating a firmware development environment for a shipping product.
• Expertise in multiple firmware languages and target architectures.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Nice to have

• RISC-V experience.
• FPGA and in-circuit debugging experience.
• Experience with AI acceleration hardware.
• Hands-on use of LLMs or agentic tools in development workflows.
