Firmware Engineer (SoC)

What you will do

• Architect and develop firmware and microcontroller subsystems for SoC and systems products.
• Implement differentiating product features in firmware for complex silicon products.
• Develop firmware for on-chip microcontrollers and C-based SDKs for host CPUs and embedded microprocessors.
• Work with logic designers to implement and test hardware-software interfaces on complex SoCs.
• Support customer-facing firmware work and ensure customer needs are understood.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and work with minimal guidance and supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with a strong academic and technical background.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting or developing complex SoC or silicon products for Server, Storage, and/or Networking applications.
• High proficiency in C or C++, including development of C-based SDKs and firmware.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting.
• Ability to design, implement, and write unit-level tests.
• Working knowledge of software build environments, gcc, and make.
• Experience with developer workflows, source-code management preferably Git, code reviews, and CI.
• Hands-on experience with Server, Storage, and/or Networking equipment.
• Familiarity with SoC interfaces to hardware blocks, on-chip memory interfaces, and similar interfaces common to chip design.
• Professional attitude, ability to prioritize a dynamic list of tasks, minimal need for supervision, entrepreneurial and open-minded behavior, a can-do attitude, and customer focus.
• Availability to start immediately.

Nice to have

• Firmware development experience using RTOS.
• Experience developing boot-ROM and working in pre-silicon simulation and emulation environments.
• Experience with secure boot flows, including authentication, attestation, DICE, and Caliptra standards.
