Senior Windows Operating System Engineer (AI)

Location: Taipei, Taipei City, Taiwan Region. Candidates must perform the job in Taipei and be authorized to work in Taiwan.

What you will do

• Lead evaluation, enablement, and proof-of-concept work for emerging Windows hardware features and technologies, including Windows Unmetered Intelligence, Edge AI/Agentic OS, display and HDR experiences, audio, sensors, and gaming.
• Coordinate with engineering teams and Microsoft to assess technical feasibility, readiness, business value, and deployment priorities.
• Perform hands-on proof-of-concept experiments and reviews while facilitating technical communication across hirify.global, Microsoft, and IHV engineering teams.
• Assess and manage compliance with Microsoft policies, platform requirements, certification programs, and regulatory obligations; lead waiver discussions when exceptions are required.
• Advise internal teams on Microsoft features, platform requirements, policies, best practices, and strategic directions, and promote knowledge sharing.
• Communicate program progress, escalations, and problem analysis to management and product stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field and at least 10 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows architecture across x86 and ARM, including component, driver, and firmware design and requirements.
• Familiarity with hardware platforms from Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, and Nvidia.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
• Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with mastery in English and the local language.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with on-device AI areas, including agentic AI frameworks, the Windows AI stack, ONNX Runtime, Windows ML, Foundry Local, and related technologies.
• Ability to design and develop autonomous agent workflows.
• Experience optimizing AI workloads across CPU, GPU, and NPU.
• Knowledge of software development and debugging on Windows platforms.
• Program management skills supporting engineering efforts.
