E-Core CPU Layout Design Engineer (VLSI/CMOS)

Location: Hybrid work model in Malaysia, with on-site work at the assigned hirify.global site in Penang or Kulim and off-site work.

hirify.global develops microprocessors and computing technologies, including Atom E-Core processors for PCs, smartphones, laptops, and IoT devices.

What you will do

• Develop custom layouts for memory compilers, custom IPs, analog blocks, digital designs, and CPU-supporting partitions.
• Plan physical arrays, optimize area, and analyze critical wiring.
• Perform complete layout verification for design rules, SoC integration standards, electromigration, IR drop, and self-heating.
• Use custom autorouters and placers, and develop methods to improve productivity and design quality.
• Collaborate with circuit design engineers to assess feasibility, provide feedback, and implement circuit enhancement requests.
• Troubleshoot design, tool-flow, and methodology issues and coordinate design strategies and reuse methodologies with cross-site teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/Microelectronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with 9+ years of experience in layout design.
• Proficiency in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) and Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) logic circuit design.
• Programming skills in UNIX shell scripting, TCL, and Perl.
