Transmission Planning Manager (Electrical Utility)

Location: Hybrid position based at an SCE facility in Rialto, California; employees are generally required to work and reside in California, with up to 25% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory.

Salary: $161,700–$242,600 per year.

What you will do

• Lead teams responsible for planning and designing utility transmission projects.
• Set direction for transmission design activities, manage workloads and resources, and coordinate design staff, peer hub managers, and contract resources.
• Review and approve work orders and business plans while ensuring design, construction, safety, and procedure standards are met.
• Manage employee performance, compensation, mentoring, training, development, and disciplinary actions.
• Monitor budgets, objectives, quality, cost efficiency, client responsiveness, and hub performance using reporting tools including Project Tracker and Power BI.
• Collaborate with internal departments, government agencies, and external partners while implementing improved work processes, technology, and automation.

Requirements

• Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising electrical utility distribution, transmission, or telecom design or line construction.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to meet safety, procedure compliance, corrective-action, work-behavior, information-security, and confidential-data protection expectations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of construction standards, transmission design standards, or G.O. 95/128/165/131E standards.
• Experience preparing and reviewing work orders or construction plans using construction, engineering, and design practices and procedures.
• Experience developing strategic plans for customer satisfaction, workflow processes, resource allocation, and department operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and programs such as DM, GeoView, and Click Schedule.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, or a related field.
