Senior Substation Project Engineer

Location: Hybrid, West Sacramento, California, US; assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory based on business need

Annual salary: $153,828–$197,628

What you will do

• Manage large, complex electric substation projects and perform engineering analyses, studies, and conceptual design.
• Lead, coach, provide technical direction to, and mentor technical employees and engineering teams.
• Finalize contract project specifications and technically evaluate contractor bids.
• Support other departments with land, permitting, and legal issues.
• Resolve complex-scope problems independently, using creative or non-standard approaches where appropriate.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, local public agencies, clients, project teams, and company management.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited US curriculum, or an equivalent degree from outside the US.
• 8 years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering and design.
• Ability to apply extensive engineering concepts, principles, and practices with general direction.
• Ability to interpret industry practices and codes, deliver presentations, and lead team meetings.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple large-scale, large-budget electric substation projects.
• Experience in substation engineering.
• Project management skills.
• Current California PE license.
