Senior Transmission Line Engineer

What you will do

• Lead advanced engineering analyses and conceptual designs for 115kV–500kV high-voltage transmission lines.
• Review and approve design criteria, specifications, technical documents, and CAD drawings for compliance with NESC and internal safety codes.
• Independently manage project scope, schedules, technical requirements, deliverables, and technical feasibility reviews.
• Evaluate engineering consultant proposals and review third-party work for quality and technical compliance.
• Coordinate with government bodies, project managers, contractors, construction personnel, and external vendors.
• Support root-cause analysis, emergency restoration planning, and rapid-response technical assistance for facility issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited curriculum.
• At least three years of cumulative engineering and design experience with transmission systems.
• Extensive experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or equivalent transmission line design software.
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Safety Code and high-voltage construction practices.
• Ability to plan work independently, manage deliverables, and coordinate with construction and field personnel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for presenting technical findings to leadership and government agencies.

Nice to have

• High-voltage transmission design experience in the 115kV–500kV range.
• Experience preparing technical reports, restoration plans, and contract specifications.
