Construction Manager (Rail & Transit)

Location: Onsite at client sites in New York City, NY or Seattle, WA, United States.

What you will do

• Ensure the safety of client employees, agency personnel, contractors, and the traveling public.
• Serve as the owner's representative, overseeing project staff, field and office operations, and supporting project functions.
• Monitor schedules and budgets, report to executive leadership, and manage execution against quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Oversee engineering, construction, quality, safety, environmental, third-party, and community outreach activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Represent the client with community stakeholders, public agencies, utilities, and permitting authorities, and coordinate construction with transit operations to minimize service disruptions.
• Conduct constructability reviews and oversee compliance with client governance, federal and state contract requirements, Buy America, Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage, and DBE reporting obligations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or another related field.
• Ten years of construction management experience on transit or public infrastructure projects, preferably involving individual project values of $30 million or greater.
• Three years of supervisory experience managing major construction contracts of similar size and scope.
• Working knowledge of WSDOT and APWA Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction.
• Experience on FTA-funded projects, including familiarity with federal contract compliance requirements.
• Valid Washington State driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Nice to have

• Experience with alternative delivery methods, particularly GC/CM and design-build, across preconstruction and construction phases.
• Established relationships with Washington transit agencies and public works departments, including Sound Transit, Community Transit, King County Metro, Pierce Transit, Everett Transit, Kitsap Transit, Intercity Transit, Spokane Transit, C-TRAN, or WSDOT.
• Experience with EV charging or transit electrification infrastructure.
• Contractor-side experience as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Engineer.
• Competency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, plus familiarity with Procore, e-Builder, Unifier, or a similar construction document management platform.
