Project Manager - Structures Building Envelope

Location: New York, NY, US; full-time role with recurring field inspections, site investigations, and office work. Flexible hybrid work is supported.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually.

What you will do

• Manage technical and administrative aspects of façade and roofing opportunities from proposal preparation through client acceptance, including invoicing and accounts receivable.
• Lead façade inspections, building envelope testing, structural framing condition evaluations, site investigations, and assessment of deficiencies.
• Review calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, remediation and design work plans, bidding documents, cost estimates, and permitting submissions.
• Supervise contractors and staff, coordinate field and office activities, and ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, change orders, staffing plans, invoices, and client deliverables.
• Provide performance feedback, training, mentoring, and development for direct reports while contributing to cross-functional business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York State.
• 6+ years of building envelope assessment and/or design experience supporting existing-building projects and initiatives.
• Experience managing projects and staff, including skill development, processes, compliance, team building, and collaboration with engineering, design consulting, and construction professionals.
• Direct experience with façade surveys, probes, repair documents, FISP reports, bidding, construction administration, and contractor coordination.
• Understanding of building codes for special inspections, connection detailing, lateral system determination, foundation work, and underpinning.
• Ability to delegate project-specific tasks to direct reports.
• Working knowledge of structural framing, building envelopes, codes, and zoning related to egress, fireproofing, energy, waterproofing, occupancy, and FAR.
