FVP, Platform & Automation Engineering (AI)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global headquarters in San Diego, California; remote and hybrid work are not available.

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year, plus eligible annual discretionary cash and restricted stock unit bonus targets of 15% each.

What you will do

• Own the shared platform architecture covering ReTool, n8n, the AI and intelligence agent layer, the operational data store, and the API layer.
• Set and enforce cross-pod engineering standards for schemas, API contracts, reusable workflow nodes, UI components, and platform design patterns.
• Design and govern production AI and agentic automation, including guardrails and consistent implementation standards.
• Implement an AI-driven development lifecycle across planning, coding, testing, and delivery.
• Lead and develop Forward Engineers and Platform Engineers across pods while driving hands-on resolution of difficult technical problems.
• Establish testability and automation standards, own technical delivery pace and quality, and maintain coherence across Commercial Lending, Commercial Banking, Securities, Servicing, Portfolio Management, and Special Assets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful hands-on architecture or platform leadership.
• Current hands-on experience with low-code or workflow automation platforms such as ReTool, n8n, or direct equivalents.
• Direct experience designing and operating API layers and operational data stores used by multiple teams.
• Current working knowledge of AI and LLM technology.
• Proven experience shipping AI or agentic automation into production.
• Experience implementing AI-driven development practices or AIDLC at scale with measurable delivery impact.
• Experience setting engineering standards across multiple teams.

Nice to have

• Financial services or other regulated-industry experience, particularly in contexts involving audit and compliance for operational data stores, APIs, and AI-driven changes.
