Staff Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote across the United States

Salary: $126,000–$244,000 annually, depending on the state; eligible for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Own and execute the enterprise AI automation and transformation strategy, using n8n as a core workflow orchestration platform.
• Design and build secure, resilient automation solutions, AI-enabled workflows, intelligent agents, and decisioning frameworks.
• Architect API-first and event-driven integrations connecting enterprise systems, automation platforms, and AI services.
• Establish standards for development, deployment, monitoring, reliability, governance, CI/CD, and release management.
• Create reusable automation frameworks, workflow templates, prompt patterns, and AI agent accelerators.
• Lead technical design reviews and post-incident reviews while mentoring engineers and implementation partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, plus 10+ years of experience in enterprise automation, workflow engineering, integration engineering, or platform architecture.
• Deep hands-on experience with n8n or Boomi, including enterprise automation solutions and AI-enabled workflows.
• Strong expertise in API-first and event-driven architectures, REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, JWT, and secure integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD, automation governance, observability, reliability practices, and enterprise-scale platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including AI, machine learning, and large language model integrations.
• Ability to identify high-value AI automation opportunities, measure business impact, influence technical direction, and mentor engineers.
