What you will do

• Own and execute EHSS risk management across manufacturing operations, ensuring implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain site-level programs covering hazard communication, risk management, high-risk processes, hazardous gases, and chemical management.
• Conduct EHSS risk assessments, maintain risk registers, and develop risk plans, procedures, and controls.
• Provide EHSS input to projects, including Process Hazard Analyses and design reviews, and verify that controls are effective and documented.
• Collaborate with Industrial Hygienists, operations, global EHSS teams, clients, and regulatory agencies on new products, processes, policies, and requirements.
• Maintain risk and safety records, develop digital risk-assessment tracking systems, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing EHSS programs.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree; or a master’s degree plus 2 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering, or EHS experience; or a bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of such experience; or an associate’s degree plus 8 years of such experience; or a high school diploma/GED plus 10 years of such experience.
• Collaborative leadership, communication, program development, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related science discipline.
• Experience performing and leading Process Hazard Analyses and implementing EHSS risk management programs in biotech or pharmaceutical environments.
• Familiarity with process diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, design drawings, and similar project documents.
• Experience developing and managing hazard communication, risk management, high-risk process, hazardous gas, and chemical management programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations and applied understanding of EHSS principles, practices, regulatory standards, and business requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems.
• Six years of experience managing EHSS programs in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Experience supporting commissioning, startup, or operational readiness activities.
