Analyst (Open Source Intelligence)

Location: On-site in New York City, with eligible office locations including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, McLean, and Washington, DC. Remote and hybrid work are not available for this role. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance are required.

Base compensation: $66,900–$124,300 USD annually, depending on location, knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. The role may also be eligible for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Provide onsite client support, respond to inquiries, prepare ad hoc reports, conduct research, and advise on analytical methods.
• Develop well-researched analysis and guidance using public records, proprietary data, social media, and other open-source data.
• Use TRSS proprietary data and technology solutions to communicate actionable insights through data visualization and data processing methods.
• Work with client managers and TRSS analysts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Take ownership of progressively more complex tasks, projects, and collaborations.
• Contribute to analytical development through mentorship, training, and development of analytical best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of work experience related to research and analysis.
• 2+ years of experience using public records, open-source data, and/or social media to support research and analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong reading and formal writing skills, including demonstrated ability in composition and source evaluation.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and attention to detail.
• High proficiency with open-source and research database tools, including combining multiple data streams into one deliverable.
• Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with project teams and clients and respond quickly to requests.
• U.S. citizenship is required to comply with government contract and federal agency requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance; employment is contingent on successfully completing a customer-specific background investigation, with periodic background checks required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with risk assessments, financial risk reviews, and/or Know Your Customer reviews.
• Familiarity with corporate structures, private equity deals, and/or venture capital deals.
