Enterprise Technology Research Analyst

Location: Full-time, in-person in New York City, United States

Base salary: $130k–$170k+, plus variable bonus and meaningful early-stage equity grant

What you will do

• Build company and market analyses using proprietary datasets across application software, infrastructure and hyperscalers, security, data platforms, AI/LLM vendors, and IT services.
• Track IT budget intentions, vendor consolidation and displacement, seat and consumption trends, pricing and renewals, AI adoption, and technology spending.
• Produce quantified findings, charts, vendor scorecards, time-series analyses, and written takeaways for investors and corporate strategy teams.
• Develop forward-looking analyses of agentic AI, security platformization, cloud optimization, and the impact of AI on seat-based software models.
• Write newsletter and client communications, support calls, webinars, and events, and gradually lead client conversations.
• Design survey and interview frameworks, partner with product and engineering on research methodology, and grow into ownership of an enterprise technology coverage area.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience in data-driven research, such as equity research, financial analysis, market research, and/or consulting.
• Familiarity with enterprise software economics, including ARR, net revenue retention, consumption versus seat-based pricing, and sales cycles, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Understanding of the fundamental research workflow, including idea sourcing, primary research, building conviction, position sizing, and risk management, or eagerness to learn it quickly.
• Curiosity about how enterprises buy and adopt technology across infrastructure and applications, with the ability to build working knowledge of new categories quickly.
• Strong long-form and short-form writing and communication skills, including the ability to synthesize data into digestible, forward-looking insights and present work to investors and strategy clients.
• Heavy experimentation with AI tools and agents, including incorporating them into daily workflows, automating parts of the role, and sharing learnings with the team.
• Ability to learn and iterate quickly, take ownership from research question through published output, and work with large semi-structured datasets.
• Proficiency in managing and analyzing large datasets.

• Exposure to software, internet, semiconductors, or IT services coverage.
• SQL experience.
