Developer Advocate (Edge & IoT)

Location: Remote in the United States; some travel is required for field demos and events.

What you will do

• Design and run repeatable benchmarks for latency, throughput, reliability, and cost across hirify.global Inference, Edge Compute, and connectivity, and publish reproducible methodologies and results.
• Build and operate field deployments on cellular modems, gateways, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and other real devices using hirify.global IoT SIM and eSIM.
• Create reference demos combining connectivity, private networking, Edge Compute, and hirify.global Inference for AI applications running close to devices and users.
• Demonstrate compliance configurations including in-region inference, data residency, zero data retention, and private connectivity.
• Publish tested sample applications, starter kits, and GitHub repositories, keeping them current with APIs, SDKs, and firmware.
• Present demos through videos, livestreams, workshops, meetups, and conferences, and bring field feedback to Product and Engineering.

Requirements

• Experience in developer relations engineering, solutions engineering, or developer advocacy, with a public portfolio of demos, sample applications, or talks.
• Ability to produce polished, high-production YouTube videos with strong video editing and visual design skills.
• Exceptional writing and research skills, with the ability to create original, people-first content based on firsthand expertise.
• Hands-on development, testing, and debugging in C/C++ and Python for devices, plus JavaScript/TypeScript or Go for cloud and edge applications, including AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
• Hands-on experience with cellular or IoT connectivity, including SIM and eSIM provisioning, APNs, or LTE-M/NB-IoT devices.
• Proven experience designing and running benchmarks with rigorous methodology.
• Solid networking fundamentals, including BGP, IPsec, VPCs, and cloud interconnects.
• Working knowledge of LLM inference and AI application patterns such as model serving, streaming, and agent tool use.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in developer relations or solutions engineering at an IoT, networking, telecom, or cloud company; experience with Raspberry Pi, ESP32, cellular modems, or MQTT.
• Familiarity with data residency, privacy, and security requirements in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or the public sector.
• Experience presenting live demos at conferences, meetups, or on video; an operator mentality and comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment with high autonomy.

Nice to have

• Published projects or repositories using Raspberry Pi, ESP32, cellular modems, or MQTT.
• Familiarity with SEO or how AI answer engines cite content.
