Purchasing Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead ICP raw-material buyers and planners in executing MRP requirements, placing purchase orders, managing supplier confirmations, rescheduling, cancellations, and overdue-order recovery.
• Ensure material availability and maintain shortage visibility, recovery dates, escalation, and production continuity.
• Lead supplier delivery reviews, corrective actions, capacity and commitment validation, and supply recovery with Logistics, Supplier Quality, and Category Management.
• Own raw-material inventory performance, purchasing exposure, MRP parameters, demand changes, program ramp-ups, engineering changes, phase-outs, and approved consignment or VMI initiatives.
• Set team priorities and goals, coach and evaluate employees, maintain training and succession plans, and lead operational and KPI reviews.
• Ensure purchasing controls, approved pricing and sources, authorization limits, auditable records, SAP improvements, reporting, standard work, and closure of audit findings.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing purchasing or materials planning, including 3 years leading buyers/planners or a comparable team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of MRP, SAP purchasing and material planning, inventory policies, and purchase order management.
• Proven results in material availability, supplier delivery, inventory reduction, shortage recovery, and premium freight prevention.
• Ability to analyze demand, capacity, lead times, inventory exposure, and cost trade-offs; proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
• Effective supplier escalation, negotiation within delegated authority, root cause analysis, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated coaching, performance management, cross-functional collaboration, and sound judgment under pressure.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish, written and spoken, is required for local and international coordination.

Nice to have

• APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Power BI experience.
