Purchasing Leader (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico. Global relocation and long-term assignment support is not available.

What you will do

• Lead the procurement team responsible for direct and indirect purchasing.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals, cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, contracts, performance evaluations, and supplier development.
• Ensure material availability for manufacturing while optimizing inventory levels and monitoring supply chain indicators.
• Collaborate with Planning, Logistics, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to improve procurement performance.
• Use SAP reporting tools for procurement excellence and data-based decision-making, mitigate supply chain risks, support import and export activities, and lead continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, International Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in direct and indirect procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership experience including people management and team development.
• Experience working in multinational manufacturing companies.
• Solid knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.
• Experience managing inventory levels and implementing inventory optimization initiatives.
• Practical experience using SAP for procurement, materials management, and reporting.
• Advanced or fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an onsite manufacturing environment and knowledge of import and export processes.

Nice to have

• Experience in electrical, industrial, automation, or manufacturing industries.
• Experience managing procurement transformation or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of supply chain planning and logistics processes.
• Experience with global suppliers and international sourcing strategies.
