Complex Claims Specialist (Cyber Insurance) - Germany (m/w/d)

Location: Remote-first; can be based anywhere in Germany

What you will do

• Handle cyber incident intake and coordinate breach counsel, defense counsel, coverage counsel, forensic investigators, and other external partners.
• Evaluate the full portfolio of claims in Germany, including complex first-party, third-party, and litigated claims.
• Assess liability, quantum, coverage, loss reserves, subrogation, recovery, and settlement opportunities, documenting analysis and decisions in the claims system.
• Guide and monitor third-party service providers, including quality, strategy, and spend, while coordinating defense strategy with legal counsel.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, insured stakeholders, partner carriers, and key partners in the German market; provide claims data and insights to underwriters.
• Support business development, client presentations, sales discussions, cyber incident preparedness, tabletop exercises, and communication of German and EEA claims practices to the global claims team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience handling cyber claims.
• German law degree.
• Fluent German and English.
• Knowledge of GDPR and German regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, interact with others, meet goals, and perform successfully in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide an interactive experience for clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Team-oriented approach, with the ability to work proactively and independently.

Nice to have

• Experience handling wider financial lines claims, including D&O and E&O.
• Experience handling European cyber incidents.
• Relevant insurance industry experience, ideally including claims handling for the Austrian and/or Swiss market.
