Senior Engineer-Workforce Management (Workday)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; hybrid workplace model with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office. Houston, Texas is also listed as another location.

What you will do

• Lead Workday Time Tracking, Absence Management, and Payroll integrations as the domain and technical lead.
• Define target-state architecture, integration patterns using Core Connectors, EIB, Studio, and Extend, and least-privilege security models.
• Govern PECI and outbound payroll integrations with ADP, CloudPay, Alight, NGA, and local in-country vendors.
• Translate complex pay rules and regional labor requirements into Workday configuration, including time codes, accruals, eligibility rules, and time calculations.
• Lead gap analyses, technical and functional specifications, documentation standards, release impact assessments, regression strategies, and feature adoption planning.
• Establish data quality, reconciliation, exception-handling, audit, compliance, and control processes across HR, WFM, and Payroll ecosystems.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of Workday experience with strong expertise in Time Tracking, Absence Management, and multi-country Payroll PECI design.
• Hands-on experience with EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, Calculated Fields, and Workday Security.
• Experience with Workday Reporting for time-tracking, absence, and payroll functional areas, including Report-as-a-Service patterns.
• Deep knowledge of effective-dated HR data, retro pay impacts, time valuation, accruals, and eligibility logic.
• Experience with release management, tenant lifecycle governance, and regression testing.
• Strong documentation skills covering solution designs, data mappings, and workflow diagrams.
• Ability to design scalable, efficient, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions; build resilient integrations with error handling; embed compliance and controls; and communicate technical decisions clearly to leadership stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Workday Pro or Partner certification in Time, Absence, or Integrations.
• Payroll expertise across US FLSA, Canadian provincial rules, and EU working time directives.
• Background in SOX, internal controls, and audit readiness.
