Senior Manager, Supply Chain (Automotive)

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States — onsite. Standard office conditions apply, including prolonged sitting, standing, and computer use; the role requires repeatedly lifting and carrying 20–30 pounds, or up to 50 pounds with a team lift. Travel is not required.

What you will do

• Develop supply chain best practices, strategic plans, sourcing strategies, scalability plans, reporting methods, systems implementation, and hiring plans.
• Manage purchasing, sourcing, purchase orders, direct and indirect materials, inventory, shipping, receiving, and ERP transactions.
• Build supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, address supplier quality issues, and initiate corrective actions.
• Lead purchasing and supply chain employees, delegate responsibilities, provide guidance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with program, partnership, design engineering, finance, accounting, and other departments on supplier selection, design reviews, manufacturability, costs, lead times, inventory, and assets.
• Drive bill-of-materials cost reductions and ensure compliance with the Company’s Delegation of Authority for Purchases.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, including 7+ years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a related field.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to undergo a driving record check.
• Experience managing supplier relationships.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
• Ability to interpret engineering documents, including CAD drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, guide, communicate clearly, make informed decisions, identify root causes, solve problems, think strategically, adapt to changing circumstances, delegate effectively, and collaborate across organizational levels.

Nice to have

• Experience with continuous improvement methods such as 8D, CAPA, or Six Sigma.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience with PPAP and APQP activities.
• Experience with autonomous and electric vehicle systems.
