TL;DR
Technical Program Manager (Cybersecurity/Software Delivery): Running multi-team planning, delivery forecasting, deployment milestone tracking, and program risk management for software shipped to government customers with an accent on credible estimates, explicit commitments, and predictable execution. Focus on evaluating technical requirements and estimates, coordinating customer deployment dependencies, and improving planning accuracy through data and retrospectives.

Location: On-site in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Limited to U.S. citizens due to U.S. government contract and security requirements; eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance is required.

Base salary: $124,000–$170,000 per year. Estimated total compensation: $162,000–$257,000, including target bonus and estimated equity value.

Company

hirify.global industrializes offensive cyber operations for the United States and its allies, developing software for government customers and mission-critical deployments.

What you will do

  • Run the multi-team planning cycle from intake through commitment and close-out, leading planning sessions with product managers and engineering managers.
  • Maintain sizing standards, challenge unsupported estimates, track estimates against actual effort, and own the rolling delivery forecast with dates and confidence levels.
  • Run status cadences and produce program-level reporting for executive leadership.
  • Maintain deployment milestone registers, connect milestones to roadmap dependencies, and review milestone health with deployment managers.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and the program risk register, ensuring roadmap changes and commitment tradeoffs are made explicitly.
  • Run end-of-cycle retrospectives and improve the planning process based on planning and delivery results.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software organizations, including at least 7 years owning delivery planning across multiple teams as a technical program manager, engineering manager, or technical lead.
  • Software engineering experience or sufficient hands-on technical depth to read designs and assess whether estimates are credible.
  • Ability to evaluate product requirements for engineering readiness, identify missing information, and assess whether requirements, designs, and estimates fit together.
  • Experience running recurring planning cycles for multiple teams from intake through commitment and close-out, including explaining process improvements.
  • Experience owning delivery forecasts or committed dates relied upon by leadership and measuring and improving forecast accuracy.
  • Experience holding contributors and executives accountable for commitments while maintaining their trust.
  • Experience tracking engineering work against external commitments such as customer deployments, contract milestones, or dates required by other organizations.
  • Ability to write clear, concise status reports for engineering teams and executives.
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in defense, intelligence, or national security technology programs.
  • Experience coordinating software deployments to customer-controlled private cloud, on-premises, or classified environments.
  • Experience designing a planning process from scratch at a growing company.
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Experience building program tracking and reporting in Linear, Notion, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tools, including automated status rollups.
  • Experience using AI tools to reduce manual work in status reporting, tracking, and risk monitoring.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on mission-focused cybersecurity software for government customers and national security programs.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, deployment managers, and executive leadership.
  • Engineering teams use Go, Python, React, TypeScript, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deployments span hirify.global's cloud, customer private clouds, and on-site customer environments.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, and parental leave options are available for eligible full-time employees.
  • Paid holidays, flexible PTO, 401(k) options, HSA/FSA, and dependent care FSA are available, subject to location, role, and eligibility.
