Sr Principal Engineering Program Manager (PLM)

Location: Onsite at an HPE office in Spring, Texas; Andover, Massachusetts; or Fort Collins, Colorado. Qualified US citizens in the continental United States may be considered for other locations outside those listed.

Base salary: USD 168,000–319,000 in Colorado; USD 181,000–345,000 in Massachusetts; USD 159,500–367,000 in Texas. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Own and lead complex, cross-functional engineering programs across concept, New Product Introduction, product release, sustaining, and end-of-life.
• Develop and maintain integrated schedules, critical deliverables, budgets, resource plans, milestones, and program reporting.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, internal development teams, suppliers, partners, customers, and standards bodies.
• Apply formal governance, execution metrics, risk and dependency management, and recovery plans to keep programs on schedule and within budget.
• Present program status, escalations, risks, trade-offs, and issue analysis to senior stakeholders and management.
• Drive technology and quality initiatives, measurable process improvements, and mentoring for less-experienced staff.

Requirements

• 6+ years of program/project management, engineering program management, or technical program management experience.
• 5+ years in an Agile environment supporting engineering delivery, 5+ years owning New Product Introduction and/or product release execution, and 5+ years coordinating cross-functional execution.
• 5+ years working directly with engineering and program cross-functional teams, including 3+ years influencing delivery commitments and outcomes with senior stakeholders.
• 4+ years using formal governance, identifying risks and dependencies early, improving program efficiency, owning schedules, and driving recovery plans for slipping milestones.
• 4+ years managing program scope, schedule, budget, resources, stakeholders, and matrixed teams, including extensive use of project and program planning tools.
• 3+ years of senior stakeholder operations, presenting status, risks, and trade-offs to senior management, and contributing to measurable process improvements.
• 3+ years hands-on experience using Jira for program execution tracking and stakeholder reporting; 2+ years hands-on experience using Smartsheet for schedules and reporting.
• 2+ years of formal or informal mentoring or leadership responsibilities and 3+ years using execution metrics to drive corrective actions.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent experience; excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; mastery of English and the local language.
