Collections Analyst

Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States; in-office four days per week and remote one day per week. Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Candidates must be authorized to work full time in the United States for any employer without restriction.

Salary: $55,000–$69,000 per year.

What you will do

• Monitor aging reports and identify overdue accounts for collection activity.
• Contact customers by phone and email to resolve outstanding balances, billing issues, and unpaid invoices.
• Analyze payment trends and recommend credit holds or escalations.
• Collaborate with billing, customer service, and sales teams to resolve customer inquiries.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly collection status reports and forecasts, including ad hoc analysis.
• Track customer inquiries and outbound engagement and support order-to-cash improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in collections or accounts receivable.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with external organizations and internal stakeholders, verbally and in writing.
• Detail-oriented approach and ability to work independently with large volumes of data.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
• Sense of urgency, self-motivation, and personal commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work full time in the United States for any employer without restriction.
