UX Engineer Supervisor (React)

Location: Chicago, Denver Downtown, Minneapolis, Orlando, Raleigh, or Dallas, United States; hybrid work aligned to an hirify.global office.

Salary: $111,200–$190,300 per year, plus discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.

What you will do

• Own the technical roadmap for the enterprise UI component library, balancing product needs, technical debt, and scalability.
• Establish governance, standards, contribution practices, design tokens, documentation, and release processes for reusable components and patterns.
• Build, test, document, and maintain accessible, responsive, pixel-accurate UI components using React, Storybook, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Partner with design and engineering teams to connect design intent, design assets, coded components, documentation, and releases.
• Review code and troubleshoot issues involving visual fidelity, accessibility, maintainability, security, browser compatibility, devices, and screen sizes.
• Coach UX Engineers and developers through technical guidance, pairing, code reviews, knowledge sharing, adoption, migration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive front-end engineering experience with advanced JavaScript and CSS, plus strong TypeScript, TSX, JSX, HTML, and modern browser API knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience building reusable component libraries or design systems with React, Storybook, and modern front-end frameworks and tools.
• Strong understanding of component architecture, APIs, composition, state, theming, design tokens, scalable CSS, package management, semantic versioning, and shared-library development.
• Ability to create pixel-accurate, responsive interfaces and diagnose UI issues across browsers, devices, screen sizes, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, AODA, semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen-reader testing, and automated accessibility tools.
• Experience with Figma design-to-code workflows and automated component, accessibility, and visual-regression testing using Playwright, Storybook-based testing tools, axe, or comparable tools.
• Experience with code review, version control, CI/CD, debugging, and modern development toolchains.
• Working knowledge of DevExpress, Telerik Kendo UI, Tailwind CSS, Azure DevOps, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Ability to coach engineers, influence technical delivery without formal authority, and collaborate effectively across design and engineering disciplines.
