Senior Software Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Location: Illinois, United States; hybrid/remote, with candidates required to be based in the United States

Salary: $126,000–$190,000 per year, plus an annual performance bonus, long-term incentives, and equity program.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the design system library's packaging, publishing, module format, peer dependencies, and delivery through Artifactory and CDN.
• Establish versioning, deprecation, migration guidance, and timely patch releases for consuming teams.
• Set up CI, visual regression testing, and the design-token pipeline from token files to CSS variables.
• Develop and review React components, including behavior not provided by the existing framework library, and support micro frontend integration.
• Fix accessibility defects, support conformance reporting, and ensure keyboard-navigable, responsive component behavior.
• Maintain legacy libraries in maintenance mode and raise engineering standards through code review and pairing.

Requirements

• 7+ years of front-end or UX engineering experience.
• Deep experience with React, TypeScript, semantic HTML, CSS, and accessible component patterns.
• Experience maintaining a reliable published package, including build and release tooling.
• Technical leadership experience on a library or product area, with the ability to turn technical direction into an executable plan.
• Experience with accessibility testing using screen readers, Axe, or equivalent tools, and with legacy codebases.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining a design system used by multiple teams.
• Fluency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
• Experience working across platform teams and guiding design system migrations.
• Experience collaborating with designers and explaining packaging and design decisions across engineering disciplines.
