Director, IT Project Management (Banking)

Location: Toronto, ON; legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit. Work arrangement, including on-site and remote work, will be discussed during the interview.

What you will do

• Manage delivery of a portfolio of innovative Treasury and Risk Technology projects.
• Lead and manage a team of 5–10 Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
• Direct the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure of complex projects and strategic programs.
• Manage project interdependencies, risk assessments, governance, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Build relationships with business management, stakeholders, clients, sponsors, and senior management to align technology services with business needs.
• Mentor, motivate, develop, and manage the performance of management team members and key staff.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in end-to-end project delivery and project management as an IT Director or in a similar role.
• Experience delivering results in a matrix environment without direct influence over all project resources.
• Experience establishing and maintaining stakeholder and sponsor relationships.
• Experience with integration projects and an interest in architecture and high-level design.
• Experience leading large, complex, and mission-critical technology projects in partnership with Technology teams.
• Experience aligning project delivery with technology standards, delivery frameworks, governance requirements, and business objectives.
• Experience setting operational objectives, driving tactical planning, recommending process improvements, and overseeing multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Leadership, collaboration, strategic management, business planning, technical knowledge, and project delivery skills.
