Director, Visa Direct Ecosystem Development (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Define and execute the hirify.global Direct ecosystem strategy across issuers, acquirers, enablers, and partners.
• Develop multi-year ecosystem growth plans and OKRs covering enablement, acceptance, performance, compliance, and revenue.
• Lead market expansion, client onboarding, activation, and scaling initiatives with issuers, processors, technology providers, and cross-functional teams.
• Support domestic and cross-border payment corridors, including market readiness, regulatory alignment, and technical integration.
• Monitor acceptance rates, fraud and risk metrics, data integrity, and operational health while driving continuous improvement.
• Advocate for clients and coordinate product, technology, risk, compliance, legal, AML, finance, and client services stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree or PhD.
• Deep expertise in the payments industry and digital money movement ecosystems, including card, push-to-wallet, and push-to-account flows.
• Knowledge of issuer and account portfolio performance drivers, P&Ls, authorization strategies, fraud and risk management, and financial regulation.
• Working knowledge of payment schemes, banking regulations, financial crime, and crypto-adjacent considerations.
• Experience working with legal, compliance, risk, AML, product, and partner organizations on regulatory and rules-based initiatives.
• Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, communication, stakeholder influence, and client leadership skills.
