Risk & Insurance Specialist (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; hybrid policy with staff expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $180,000–$230,000 USD

What you will do

• Review insurance and indemnity requirements in customer, vendor, lease, and compute contracts and advise Legal and business partners.
• Manage claims intake and tracking, certificates of insurance, broker coordination, and policy administration.
• Build scalable insurance data repositories and maintain exposure data for renewals, audits, and underwriting submissions.
• Support limit adequacy, loss, retention, actuarial, and quantitative analyses for insurance program decisions.
• Support captive insurance operations, including formation, fronting, and reinsurance coordination.
• Partner with Compute, Finance, Legal, Security, Product, and Payroll while automating manual insurance workflows with AI and workflow tools.

Requirements

• Experience in insurance, corporate risk management, brokerage, underwriting, or risk consulting.
• Hands-on experience supporting a multi-line commercial insurance program, including property, casualty, cyber/technology E&O, and D&O or management liability.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• Ability to work under the location-based hybrid policy, with at least 25% office attendance expected.
• Visa sponsorship is available for eligible roles and candidates.

Nice to have

• 8–12 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years on the corporate buyer side or serving corporate clients.
• Experience with technology companies, AI or emerging technology risks, cyber liability, large property exposures, construction, or data centers.
• Captive insurance, fronting, reinsurance, actuarial analysis, or actuarial credentials.
• Familiarity with insurance management systems, SQL, Python, or workflow automation.
• Experience building processes from scratch in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
