Advanced Software Engineer (Legal Tech)

Location: Illinois, United States; hybrid/remote

Salary: $103,000–$155,000 per year, plus annual performance bonus and long-term incentives

What you will do

• Design and build performant, scalable, secure software solutions with a strong focus on quality.
• Collaborate with the software development team to deliver software operating on massive datasets.
• Develop distributed systems using multiple databases and cloud-based technologies.
• Implement unit and integration testing, static analysis, and robust testing strategies.
• Improve the software development lifecycle through process enhancements, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming using C#, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and modern web technologies.
• Experience building REST APIs.
• Experience working on an agile software team.
• Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals across all layers of the application stack.
• Required skills include engineering principles, hardware integration, innovation, problem solving, process improvements, quality assurance, research and development, system design, technical documentation, and troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Understanding of DevOps principles; experience with Azure DevOps is a plus.
• Experience designing and developing highly scalable solutions in Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and serverless technologies.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and Event-Driven Architecture.
• Awareness of emerging technology trends and their practical applications.
