Design Engineer (Generators)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days onsite in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, United States; limited travel as required.

Salary: $76,050–$96,050 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical design and development of custom, engineered-to-order generator systems, generator sets, enclosures, and related components.
• Manage engineering projects from initial customer requirements through design release and production support.
• Develop and maintain parametric models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Creo.
• Translate customer requirements into manufacturable solutions that meet technical, cost, performance, quality, and delivery objectives.
• Provide technical leadership to CAD designers and collaborate with Sales, Application Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, customers, and global engineering teams.
• Evaluate materials and design approaches, identify technical risks, implement data-driven solutions, and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of experience using Creo for 3D CAD modeling and design.
• At least 1 year of experience designing industrial or engineered-to-order products.
• Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• CAD modeling and technical design capabilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional and global teams.
• Analytical problem-solving skills focused on practical, implementable solutions.
• Ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with generator systems, power systems, or industrial equipment design.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and fabrication processes.
• Experience in a cross-functional, global engineering environment.
