Sr Specialist, Environmental Health and Safety

Location: Northampton, Massachusetts, US; onsite support rotates across two locations. The role follows a 9/80 schedule, with availability to support additional shifts or programs as required.

Salary: $91,500–$170,500 per year in Massachusetts.

What you will do

• Develop, administer, enforce, and continuously improve EHS programs across Northampton Site operations and Prov Port support.
• Support injury reduction, environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and company EHS requirements across manufacturing, assembly, repair, engineering, program development, and office environments.
• Conduct workplace surveys, safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action tracking.
• Manage program areas including ergonomics, chemical management, hazard and risk assessments, and hazardous waste generator requirements.
• Develop written programs and training, audit work practices, maintain regulatory records, permits, licenses, certifications, inspections, and audit documentation.
• Brief operations and leadership teams, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and standardize EHS processes across three locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a graduate degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or at least 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with high-performance programs such as VPP, ISO 45001, or ISO 14001.
• Strong root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience using and leveraging common EHS systems such as Gensuite.

Nice to have

• EHS-related professional accreditation, such as OSHA certifications, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or Professional Engineer.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, communication, presentation, judgment, and professionalism skills.
• Experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI.
• Practical experience developing, training, and implementing EHS programs and training.
• Ability to research technical information and manage time and projects across multiple sites or programs.
• Ability to work under general, consultative direction and manage programs independently.
• Experience managing EHS compliance budgets with vendors and consultants.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
