Educational Consultant (ELA or Reading) - Per Diem - Mississippi (EdTech)

Location: Based in Mississippi with onsite district work, support for districts throughout the state and regionally, considerable travel, and up to 80% travel required. Candidates must currently live in, be near, or be willing to relocate to Mississippi. A valid driver's license and own transportation are required; out-of-state travel may be required.

Salary: $30–$65 per hour, depending on the assigned work, including at-home or away-from-home work.

What you will do

• Become an expert in the company’s online diagnostic and instruction programs, including Ready and i-Ready, with a focus on ELA or Reading.
• Coordinate and deliver onsite product training and professional learning courses for teachers, coaches, and school administrators.
• Adjust professional learning workshops within defined parameters to meet participant needs.
• Provide tailored support including lesson planning, pacing guidance, data analysis, and instructional application.
• Work with educational leaders to identify implementation successes and challenges and communicate consultatively with teachers and school leaders.
• Complete professional improvement activities, detailed training notes, and assignments on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience teaching ELA or Reading, coaching ELA or Reading teachers, and providing ELA or Reading professional development.
• Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards for ELA or Reading for Grades K–8, or comparable state standards, including content and practice standards.
• Fluency with digital tools and online assessments, with a high level of comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and their application to professional development.
• Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong time management, organizational, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent computer and internet skills, including Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
• Valid driver’s license, own transportation, and ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel by car, plane, or public transportation.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in ELA or Reading.
• Knowledge of online meeting programs such as Zoom or WebEx.
