Construction Manager (Railheads & Track Installation)

Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom; onsite construction role for HS2 track infrastructure.

What you will do

• Lead construction delivery teams, Agents, Section Engineers, site management teams, and subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
• Manage delivery against the approved programme, including look-ahead planning, resource planning, productivity monitoring, recovery plans, risks, and constraints.
• Coordinate railheads, logistics, track installation, civil works, designers, contractors, and systems contractors.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, material deliveries, rail logistics, slab track components, S&C units, and associated infrastructure.
• Support commercial and contractual management, including change, compensation events, early warnings, cost reviews, forecasting, and NEC contract matters.
• Lead health, safety, quality, testing, commissioning, completion documentation, as-built records, and handover activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing major rail infrastructure or complex civil engineering project delivery.
• Experience leading multiple construction teams and subcontractors simultaneously.
• Demonstrable experience managing programme delivery, productivity, and construction performance.
• Good commercial and contractual awareness, including NEC contracts.
• Experience managing railheads, logistics compounds, slab track, conventional track, and S&C installations.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of high-speed rail technical standards and Works Information requirements.
• Experience working on HS2, Network Rail, or other major rail infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of rail logistics, possession planning, and access arrangements.
• Familiarity with digital construction management tools and BIM.
• Experience supporting testing and commissioning of railway systems.
