Intermediate DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes/Terraform)

Location: Remote anywhere in Canada

Salary: CAD 105,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications with engineering and cross-functional partners.
• Maintain Kubernetes infrastructure and support improvements to cloud infrastructure and continuous deployment.
• Build and operate infrastructure for AI initiatives, including AWS AI services such as Amazon Bedrock and supporting AI/LLM workloads.
• Write automation and tooling in Python, Bash, or similar languages, and use open-source technologies and orchestration tools.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
• Participate in the shared on-call rotation, investigate incidents, manage recurring issues, and support production reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Solid understanding of DevOps fundamentals and 2–4 years of professional experience in DevOps, site reliability, or infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration tools, cloud infrastructure concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform-managed cloud resources.
• Basic knowledge of Terraform modules and workspaces.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch, including system-health analysis and incident-response support.
• Comfort with JIRA or similar tools for task management and sprint planning.
• Foundational Linux/Unix administration knowledge and familiarity with networking basics such as DNS, IP addressing, and ACLs.
• Understanding of code and scripting, such as Go, Python, or Shell; experience managing MySQL and Redis.
• Ability to use open-source technologies and cloud services to improve continuous deployment.
• Foundational understanding of AI and large language models, hands-on use of AI coding agents for infrastructure-as-code, scripting, or troubleshooting, and demonstrated curiosity for innovation and continuous learning.
• General banking or financial-institution experience or knowledge is an asset.
