Complex Claim Director - Employment Practices Liability (EPL)

Location: New York, NY, United States; primarily in the office.

Base salary: $105,000–$148,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Handle complex Employment Practices Liability claims for privately held and not-for-profit insureds from inception through conclusion.
• Handle Directors & Officers Liability claims when applicable.
• Make coverage determinations, investigate losses, evaluate exposures, and project potential losses.
• Prepare case presentations, set judgmental reserves, and develop and implement resolution strategies.
• Work with defense counsel and collaborate with underwriting.
• Deliver service to customers and distribution partners.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience handling complex insurance claims, litigation, or related work.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of litigation and arbitration processes.

Nice to have

• Juris Doctor degree.
