Claims Adjuster (Insurance)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; primarily in the office, with a flexible work environment that may include working from home or in the office.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate general liability and auto liability claims, including moderate-severity injury claims.
• Analyze coverage, evaluate liability and damages, establish accurate reserves, and prepare coverage letters.
• Maintain claim diaries and manage assigned claim inventories through timely and accurate resolution.
• Communicate claim updates and reserve information to brokers, insureds, and underwriters when appropriate.
• Attend mediations, participate in reserve and strategy roundtables, and manage litigation and defense counsel for timely, cost-effective outcomes.

Requirements

• 2+ years of auto and general liability claims experience; Garage experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience resolving moderate-severity injury claims.
• Experience evaluating coverage and writing coverage letters.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, collaborate effectively, and work flexibly from home or the office.
• Effective decision-making skills, including the ability to recognize, analyze, and improve claims performance against standards and goals.
• Knowledge of claims-handling procedures and best practices.
• Property and casualty licenses are required and must be obtained within six months of hire; required licenses may need to be obtained within 90 days.

• Experience handling self-insured retentions and surplus lines coverages.
• Experience partnering with managing general agents.
• Multi-state adjuster licenses.
• Garage claims experience.
