Senior General Liability Claims Adjuster

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve premises liability, products liability, personal injury, property damage, and other general liability claims across multiple jurisdictions.
• Analyze coverage and apply policy terms, conditions, exclusions, state statutes, and regulatory requirements.
• Interview claimants, witnesses, and insureds while collecting statements and supporting documentation.
• Manage litigated claims in partnership with legal counsel, defense attorneys, and outside experts.
• Set case reserves, negotiate settlements, manage claim files through resolution, and pursue subrogation and recovery opportunities.
• Maintain accurate claim records, provide status updates, and deliver empathetic, transparent service to claimants, insureds, and business partners.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of general liability claims adjusting experience.
• Active adjuster licenses in multiple states, or the ability to obtain reciprocal or designated home state licenses quickly.
• Strong knowledge of liability law, tort principles, policy coverage interpretation, and state-specific unfair claims practices requirements.
• Experience managing complex or litigated claims through resolution.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite; a bachelor's degree is preferred, while equivalent industry experience may substitute.

Nice to have

• AIC, CPCU, or SCLA designation.
• Experience with construction, retail, hospitality, or products liability claims.
• Experience working with third-party administrators or self-insured programs.
• Bilingual communication skills.
