Principal Software Engineer (C#/Java/Python)

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; in-office role.

What you will do

• Align business and technology strategy with software solutions and developer enablement capabilities.
• Design, code, prototype, and document solutions for complex engineering and business needs.
• Provide technical leadership across C#, Java, Python, Node, associated frameworks, development environments, plugins, and extensions.
• Evaluate, approve, package, distribute, upgrade, and support development languages, frameworks, tools, packages, and extensions.
• Build reference architectures, reusable solutions, Inner Source contributions, developer productivity tools, and AI-assisted development solutions.
• Partner with developer communities and development teams to identify friction, translate feedback into improvements, and provide hands-on technical guidance.

Requirements

• University or college degree, typically a bachelor's degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience; a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology, computer programming, data structures, DevOps, distributed systems, Microsoft technologies, object-oriented programming, software development, SDLC, software engineering, and system design.
• Competence in application design, architecture, packaged application integration, product and vendor evaluation, software process improvement, system development life cycle, and technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead complex problem solving and provide technical guidance and hands-on support to colleagues and development teams.
• Ability to apply modern engineering principles, methodologies, technologies, and tools to advance developer capabilities and software delivery.
• No required certifications or licenses.
