Software Engineer Senior (Java/API)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, United States; hybrid. Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation for one week every six to eight weeks is required.

What you will do

• Design and develop customer-requested enhancements for Xpress middleware services and legacy components integrating with core banking systems.
• Develop, enhance, and support Code Connect APIs using REST, SOAP, web services, YAML, Swagger, WSO2 API Manager, and WSO2 Enterprise Integrator.
• Remediate static-code, open-source, and AI-identified security vulnerabilities in Java and API code using Checkmarx One and Mythos.
• Investigate production issues and monitor Splunk and ThousandEyes alerts to identify application and architecture problems.
• Collaborate with application teams on enhancements, troubleshooting, escalations, and ServiceNow incidents during scheduled on-call coverage.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of Java development experience with strong object-oriented programming skills.
• API development experience with Spring Core, Spring Integration, and multilayered architectures.
• Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP web services, Swagger, YAML, XML, JSON, XSD, JSON Schema, and data transformation technologies.
• Experience with relational database management systems, SQL, database management systems, and JDBC.
• Working knowledge of application security remediation, including static application security testing and software composition analysis with Checkmarx One (CxOne), and experience addressing vulnerabilities in Java and API code.
• Ability to provide production support and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for one week every six to eight weeks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Xpress application programming and implementations, including IFX schemas, WebSphere application server configuration, and CICS applications.
• Knowledge of WSO2 API Manager, WSO2 Analytics, WSO2 Enterprise Integrator, and Splunk monitoring.
• Banking industry experience.
