Senior Software Engineer (Java/SQL/PostgreSQL) (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Allen, Texas, United States; onsite at the Allen office one day per week. Travel up to 5% may be required.

What you will do

• Participate in the technical design and implementation of new products and application enhancements.
• Work across the full development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through coding, testing, QA release, and implementation.
• Analyze, develop, debug, troubleshoot, and support new and existing applications through retirement.
• Collaborate with QA and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality software.
• Lead critical tasks, technical discussions, estimates, documentation, and selected system analysis or programming activities.
• Contribute to product architecture, engineering standards, and improvements based on emerging technologies.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with modern Java, including Java 11, 17, or 21+, multithreading, concurrency, and object-oriented programming.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries using joins, aggregations, and common table expressions.
• Ability to work onsite at the Allen, Texas office one day per week as part of the hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM field.
• Experience leading complex and diverse projects and managing multiple priorities independently.
• Strong software design, analysis, research, problem-solving, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, industry practices, and complete development lifecycle activities.
• Experience preparing task estimates and adjusting them as requirements change.
