Senior Application Programmer / Java Developer

Location: Remote; US citizenship and an active DHS Public Trust clearance required; 0–20% travel.

Salary: $130,000–$166,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Modernize complex DHS legacy mission systems by translating operational functionality into a platform-based architecture targeting Palantir.
• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, and modern web technologies.
• Conduct software analysis, programming, debugging, unit testing, SonarQube remediation, and technical documentation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, cloud deployments, and infrastructure using Jenkins/CloudBees, Git, and AWS.
• Resolve technical issues across application environments and periodically support Help Desk troubleshooting for end users.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active DHS Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of application development and/or Java development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services, with experience in MVC architecture and JDBC.
• Proficiency with React 18+, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JSON.
• Experience with Node.js 22+, Struts 2, Maven, and JQuery.
• Familiarity with MQ or Kafka messaging and streaming technologies.
• Experience with Oracle 19c, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and SQL optimization.
• Experience in Windows and Linux environments; AWS services including EC2, CloudWatch, load balancers, and serverless architectures.
• Experience with Terraform, RedHat Ansible Automation Platform, Jenkins/CloudBees, and Git.
• Familiarity with AppDynamics and DataDog monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of application frameworks, microservices, Docker/Kubernetes containerization, and cross-platform interoperability.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• No prior Palantir experience is required; training and certification will be provided.
